Evidence from Elsewhere launch
March 2, 2017
The Knowledge Translation Network (KTN) would like to invite you to the launch of
“Evidence from Elsewhere: Gathering, analysing and using other people’s evidence”
(An Evidence for Success supplementary guide)
22 March 2017, 9:45 am – 12:00 pm
Big Lottery Fund, Pacific House, 70 Wellington St, Glasgow G2 6UA.
“Evidence from Elsewhere: Gathering, analysing and using other people’s evidence” (An Evidence for Success supplementary guide) was produced by the KTN, which was established in 2012 to facilitate and share learning about effective knowledge translation and dissemination activities.
Research for ‘Evidence for Success: the guide to getting evidence and using it’ identified a need amongst third sector organisations for guidance on making sense of other people’s evidence (also known as ‘secondary evidence’) to inform and influence policy and practice. This supplementary guide has been written to do just that - provide practical guidance and resources for third sector organisation to gather, analyse and use other people’s evidence.
The Evidence from Elsewhere guide is for anyone in the third sector who wants to use other people’s evidence to inform, influence and improve policy and/or practice (internally or externally) regardless of the level of experience they currently have.
This free event (funded by the Scottish Government Third Sector Unit) will provide an opportunity to:
- Have a first look at the guide, which will be published on the KTN’s webpages
- Share best practice and challenges about gathering, analysing and using other people’s evidence to influence policy and practice
- Help the KTN shape future training and support on the use of the Evidence for Success guidance
- Network with other attendees, who are interested in this area of work.
A programme for the event is available here. Don’t miss out this opportunity and book your place here by Friday, 10 March 2017.
Please read: Places for this event are limited and they will be booked on a ‘first come, first served’ basis; one representative per organisation - so book now! (Please note that bookings will be monitored to ensure the event has a good mix of participants, which will be key to maximising the usefulness of discussions).
