Great Place Scheme

May 15, 2017

The Great Place Scheme offers grants of between £100,000 and £1m for  5-10 places across Scotland, linking heritage to community for regeneration purposes.

The pilot scheme will fund partnerships led by a not-for-profit organisation in areas where there is a commitment to embed heritage in local plans and decision-making. By strengthening the networks between heritage, civic and community organisations, and by involving citizens and local businesses, projects will enhance the role that heritage plays in the future of each place participating in the Scheme. In time this will lead to the wide range of social, environmental and economic benefits that heritage can achieve.
