Perth and Kinross Council pledges to:

Challenge ourselves to increase the positive impact we make on our local community and make better use of our assets – our buildings/grounds and our people.

In the next six months we will do at least three things that we don’t do at the moment to improve our social impact.

1st Commitment

The Convenor of Lifelong Learning Committee will meet routinely with the PKC members of the Scottish Youth Parliament to hear first-hand the issues and concerns they wish to address and to work in partnership with them in taking forward some of the agreed solutions.

2nd Commitment

The Convenor and Vice-Conveners of Lifelong Learning Committee will make provision to have young people represented on the committee of the Council where policy making decisions are taking which have most impact on education provision.

3rd Commitment

The Leader of the Council will establish a cross-party group of elected members (between 4-6 in size) who will visit schools and in a non-political way highlight the work of local councils and how young folk can contribute and make their voices heard on issues that are important to them.
