Advocating Together - Dundee
Advocating Together (Dundee) is an independent self-advocacy organisation whose purpose is to help people with learning disabilities and/or an autistic spectrum disorder, along with their families, to have a stronger voice and to have as much control as possible over their own lives.
The organisation provides a safe environment for self-advocates to develop their abilities and offers volunteering and work opportunities for adults with learning disabilities (LD) and/or an autistic spectrum disorder (ASD). It helps people to form and work on relationships with others and share experiences in new places within the community.
A key part of the project is the “Say Team” consisting of adults with learning disabilities and/or ASD). They also facilitate Service User Involvement Groups for other public, voluntary and private sectors to get the views of their service users to help them provide a better service.
