Auchtermuchty Community Trust (ACT)
ACT is a group of local residents in Auchtermuchty, who aim to advance community development, and to provide recreational facilities or organise recreational activities for the community so as to enhance the conditions of life for those living in the community.
Having grown out of discussions around community ownership of three local halls, ACT is now registered as a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO). Trustees are all local residents from various backgrounds, including councillors and representatives from the community council, theatre group, festival, church and community centre. The organisation is committed to bringing facilities to Auchtermuchty which are functional, appealing and complement the other facilities already operating within the town.
The Trust is engaged in a number of initiatives within Auchtermuchty, including improving a play park within the town, producing and distributing a community newsletter, and increasing the use of some of the community halls within Auchtermuchty. It works closely with the Auchtermuchty Community Centre and other community groups within the town.
