Celebrate Age Network - Dundee
The Celebrate Age Network (CAN) was set up to secure involvement of older people in planning and delivery of services in Dundee. It is a partnership between the older people who volunteer and Dundee Voluntary Action (DVA) and funded through Dundee City Council.
The Network works with older people 50+, encouraging them to get involved in planning around local authority service provision. It provides information events across the city with agencies and working groups to influence health and social care services. CAN has also set up a transport group which tries to influence and improve transport in Dundee.
The group organises visits to older people, to signpost them to services. It is currently developing a lay assessor’s scheme an exploring the feasibility of enablement services, working with the local authority to get feedback on this.
