Govan Community Project - Glasgow

GCP logoGovan Community Project is a community based organisation working in south west Glasgow. The project has developed over the years to become a local charity working with and for all the diverse communities of the Greater Govan area, around the following purpose: To achieve social justice in Govan and Craigton by building a strong community based on equality, mutual respect, support and integration.

Current programmes include developing community-led research and a Mens Group.  Direct services are provided, including drop-ins, advice, information and advocacy, cultural events, community flat, English classes, destitution food project and hate-crime reporting.  The project also runs an excellent interpreting service as a social enterprise.

In addition the network facilitates forums bringing together public, voluntary and community organisations with local people to help plan public services, promote equal rights and opportunities and cross-cultural understanding, and to build bonds and links within and between communities.
