LUV café - Glasgow
The LUV Café was set up in 2004 as part of the Linthouse Urban Village (LUV) regeneration art scheme. The healthy-eating café operates on a not for profit basis and puts any profit back into the local community.
A community based social enterprise employing 5 local people, the café provides wholesome, nutritious food at affordable prices. There is nothing on the menu that costs more than £4.50, with wonderful bowls of home-made LUVly soup retailing for a mere £2.20.
As well as serving up healthy, delicious food, the LUV Café is an affordable place to come and unite different sectors of the community. The café itself is a warm and inviting place with artist commissions forming most of the design, and is used by those who live, work or visit the area.
