The Sound Lab – Glasgow

The Sound Lab logoThe Sound Lab is a registered charity predominately helping young people 12 to 25 years in the East End of Glasgow to advance their education through music, the arts, media skills, and digital technology. The organisation's constitution allows the Sound Lab to deliver Scotland wide and to any age group.

Formed in 2003, the Sound Lab offers young people support through providing music tuition, encouraging information and skills exchange, developing recording projects, and film-making.
The charity also supports young people to perform live at local community events, giving them invaluable experience of live performances. Current activities include guitar, keyboard and drum tuition, a music production course and jam sessions, all held in Tollcross YMCA’s brand new recording studio. Future programmes include the deliverance of a Sound Production course with one of Glasgow's top DJ's.

Over the last 13 years, the organisation has delivered a considerable amount of music and drama workshops, with young people going on to form their own bands or engage in further education.
