The Social Impact Pledge is a way for organisations in Scotland to make a commitment to change something about the way they do things - i.e. something they weren’t doing before - that will benefit communities.

In particular, we are encouraging commitments relating to volunteering (click here for some examples), although you can make other commitments as well.

By ‘communities’, we mean either people who use their services or people and community groups more generally.

Pledges can be time specific (e.g. for one year) but, if possible, they should be available on an ongoing basis. They can always be changed in future.

Organisations can make up to three commitments as part of their Social Impact Pledge.

What happens then?

We’ll put the pledge up on the site and make it as easy as possible for people and community groups to find and make use of it.
