Citizen Participation Network

The Citizen Participation Network includes 600 citizens, researchers, practitioners and policy makers working in a range of fields in Scotland and beyond. It is open to anyone interested in democratic innovation, citizen participation, deliberative democracy, public engagement, co-production, and collaborative policy-making.

CPN is hosted by the Edinburgh Futures Institute at the University of Edinburgh. The network is convened by Oliver Escobar and it includes a newsletter edited by Meng Yan.

The network’s website provides further links to useful resources, including some open access chapters of a new book Oliver has co-edited, the Handbook of Democratic Innovation and Governance and Public DIalogue and Deliberation: A communication perspective for public engagement practitioners.

Anyone wanting to know more about the theory and practical methods behind participatory democracy should consider connecting with this newtwork.
