We will do the following things that we don’t do at the moment to improve our social impact.

1st Commitment

We will look for opportunities to support young people in our community as they look to enter the workforce. One of the ways we will do this is by building on our partnership with ‘Career Ready’, a social mobility charity. We will offer further mentorships to young people to give them access to opportunities that they may not have had before, to build their confidence and readiness for the world of work. This forms part of our commitment to authentic long term and sustainable action to achieve real change in the EDI space.

2nd Commitment

We will investigate opportunities to use our unique position within Scottish society to encourage and support others to achieve net zero emissions. One of the ways we will do this is by considering the data we hold and how this might be better-used to the benefit of agendas such as home energy efficiency and carbon sequestration. This will complement our work to measure and report our carbon emissions, with targeted reductions supported by a programme of action.

3rd Commitment

We will continue to reinforce our corporate social responsibility values with our Community Benefits Group, identifying new initiatives with local community groups to support through contributions. This support for different events and activities will positively benefit those who live in the community to encourage engagement and wellbeing.
